Travel goals can be local or far away. They can be educational, or exotic. Some people have never been out of the community in which they were born, and others have never lived in the same place more than a year. In couples, one party may have traveled all over the place on business or active military duty, while the other stayed and managed the home.


The idea and lure of travel may have much different meanings and levels of attractiveness to people based on their experiences, knowledge, dreams, fears, expectations. When considering travel goals for your life list, you may have to weigh your desires against those of your spouse or partner. In some cases, you may have to resolve to make some trips on your own or with a friend rather than spouse or partner.

Travel involves transportation involved in getting somewhere, the destination(s) to which you plan to travel, what you do while you are at the destination(s), and the transportation involved in getting back. Sometimes the mode of transportation doubles as the destination, as in the case of a touring boat or cruise ship.
